By now, I think it’s pretty safe to say newly-elected President Joe Biden has written far too many executive orders. And most have not exactly gone over well with the American people, not that he cares. In particular, are those dealing with immigration issues.
At least eight of his now forty-some orders have something to do with immigration policies and the new apparent need for him to flip flop every one that former President Trump touched or had input in.
And according to those familiar or most affected by immigration issues, the changes aren’t doing anyone but illegals any good. In fact, if most are to be believed, Biden’s new policies will only hurt America and her people.
Sheriff A.J. Louderback of Jackson County, Texas, is one such individual.
As a law enforcement officer in a county situated at our southern border with Mexico, he knows firsthand what immigration changes do. And he says Biden’s are “particularly devasting.”
He told Tucker Carlson on Monday night’s segment of Tucker Carlson Tonight, “The memo that I received this last week – it’s essentially a defund (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement) by memo, by memorandum, that was sent out by David Pekoske on Jan. 20, 2021.”
Louderback explained that the memo is essentially a “message to the world: You can come here illegally, you can commit crimes here against Americans and remain here illegally.”
And he’s not wrong.
If you haven’t had the chance to read the executive order in question, Fox News explains that it is a direct order by our new president that effectively prohibits ICE or any other agency from deporting illegals if they have committed certain crimes.
“ICE would cease to pursue deportations of convicted drug criminals, DUI drivers, low-level assaulters, fraudsters and thieves, according to a memo from acting director Tae Johnson obtained earlier by the Washington Post.”
So if someone is here illegally, this memo gives the right to steal, beat people up, take and sell drugs, as well as drive drunk.
Not only are they not being punished for their original crime of entering the country illegally, but now they are essentially given free rein of the place. Anyone else see how this is dangerous for Americans?
Biden and his staff apparently don’t. Instead, all their worried about is being politically awake and inclusive, even if it means our nation’s safety is no longer a priority.
But Louderback isn’t the only one with such complaints.
Fox News was able to speak with a New Mexico rancher recently on the issue of immigration. And this man wasn’t too thrilled about the changes either.
He told Lawrence Jones, “Well, that’s been Trump’s motto through his campaign and through his administration, they were going to build a wall. And it started in April of last year. And we were, you know, we were really excited that this was happening. And then as soon as president Biden took office, he pulled the plug on this project and it came to an immediate halt.”
Jones then asked the rancher why he thought Biden would be doing such a thing? Did people complain about the wall?
“Absolutely not. Everybody in our area is in favor of this wall because they’ve seen where it is worked, and that it does work.”
He emphasized, “The wall works. This is all a politically driven agenda and this is and this is what’s frustrating to me is the Biden administration, they’re stopping the wall, in my opinion, to try to hurt Trump’s legacy of securing the border. When in reality all it is doing is hurting the American people.”
Biden claims to want to stop the wall because taxpayers have to pay for it. But, like this rancher and Sheriff Louderback, I’m not sure that’s accurate.
Biden, or at least someone on his staff, has to realize that the wall is working. Illegal crossings dropped considerably during Trump’s tenure, as did apprehensions at the border. That’s just the problem. It happened under Trump.
And Biden doesn’t want any reminders of such in his sight.
But if he keeps going this direction, making decisions based on his need to erase Trump’s legacy, America will let him know all too quickly that his own legacy will be nothing but pain and hardship.
