The coronavirus pandemic has brought many businesses to their knees over the course of the past few months. These businesses have been left with precious little recourse, as no one has been willing to offer them any significant help. Any business owner who looks to lift the mask mandates that are keeping them down is rebuffed.
The liberal leadership that has been put into place assures these types of responses. So what is Joe Biden planning to do about this? His plan is easy enough to understand. He thinks that he can go around and hand out more money to take care of the problem.
Biden does not understand that there are people out there who are perfectly okay with earning their own. Everyone is not looking for a handout. People want normalcy and they want to open their businesses back up without having to worry about regular visits from the mask gestapo.
Instead of coming up with a plan that allows these folks to remain in business, he would rather continue to make their lives harder and harder. The last thing that a small business owner needs is a massive increase in the federal minimum wage. How are these raises supposed to be paid? Biden has yet to elaborate on that.
Small business owners who have had their doors closed all year do not have that type of extra income laying around. The Congressional Budget Office has tried to warn the incoming president about what is going to take place. Do you think that Biden and his cronies are going to be willing to listen to what they have to say?
You know they won’t. It’s all about scoring the most woke points possible. The Washington Examiner has more. “President-elect Joe Biden’s proposal to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour could kill up to 3.7 million jobs, the Congressional Budget Office estimated. The CBO said that some of the higher earnings from the $15 federal minimum wage could be offset by higher rates of joblessness.
The report found that 1.3 million workers who would typically be employed would be without jobs in an average week in 2025. A new federal minimum wage would also increase the pay of 17 million workers in an average week in 2025. The increase in earnings would mostly affect low-income families, while a loss of business would affect higher-income families.
Families below the poverty line would receive an additional $8 billion in real income in 2025, while families above the poverty line would lose $16 billion in real income,” reads their very sobering report. We wish that Democrats would get it through their heads. This is a very bad idea and it is not going to end well for any of the people that they claim to want to help.
That’s not their primary concern, as anyone with eyes can tell you. They want to come up with plans that look great on paper and do not actually help anyone. That’s the Biden way. He learned from Obama and we all know how good he is at these types of initiatives. If there is a performative idea that won’t actually help the American people, these two are sure to be all over it.
The Democrats wouldn’t have it any other way. All they are doing is ensuring that entry level jobs are going to be taken away. Once people are unable to work, all of the existing problems are going to be exacerbated. This isn’t something that they want people to think about. They would rather fill their followers’ heads with empty platitudes.
You have heard them all by now. Biden loves to speak in Zen koans but they are not going to be of much help to someone who is wondering where their next meal is going to come from. Anyone who truly knows how the economy works has told Biden not to do this but he knows better….as per his usual.
